(1) 一切事物，每件事，事事，凡事(every thing;all things)：～in the room 屋子里的所有东西; be careful in～事事小心; have nothing to lose but～to gain 有百利而无一害; I'll do～I can to help you. 我将尽一切可能帮助你。E～was in a mess/destroyed. 所有的东西都乱七八糟的/都被毁掉了。I'll tell you～when I come back. 等我回来后把一切都告诉你。Have you～you want? 你想要的东西都得到了吗? Is～all right with you? 你一切都好吗?

(2) 最重要的事情; 一切 (the most important thing)：before～比一切都重要;Money is his/isn't～. 钱对于他重于一切/金钱不是万能的。Her children are/mean～to her. 孩子就是她的一切。

【注意】当everything 作代词时为一个词，如：Everything goes well with me. (我的一切都好。) 而如果强调的是thing 时则为两个词，如：every thing in the universe(宇宙中的每样事物)。
