(2)无论如何，尽管如此(in spite of this/that/everything;in any case)：It may rain，but～I shall go out.有可能会下雨，可我还是要出去。I don't think you can do it，but you can try～.我觉得你干不了，不过你可以试一试。A～I don't like it.不管怎样，我不喜欢。You won't be late～.尽管如此，你也不会晚的。〖同〗anyway，nevertheless;

(3)(用来表示要改变话题)(used to show one is changing the topic or returning to a previous topic)：Well，～，it was nice talking to you，but I've got to go now.嗯，和你交谈很开心，可我得走了。A～，I'll see you later.就这样，回头再见。

(4)无论如何(都不……)(in any way)：The engine stopped and I couldn't start it～.引擎熄火了，我怎么也发动不起来。

【辨异】anyhow与anyway完全同义，且都用于很随便的场合。在第(2)个意义上，两个字又都与nevertheless同义。后者与前两个字的不同在于：后者用于较正式的文体中(此时也可用at any rate或in any case)。
