(2)撤消(order (sth) to be stopped;declare sth to be without effect)[T+n]：～an agreement/a contract 撤消协议/合同;～a magazine subscription撤消杂志订购单;～one's order for computers撤消购买电脑的预订单;〖反〗confirm;

(3)划掉，删去(cross out(sth written))[T+n]：～a sentence/a word删去一个句子/词;〖同〗delete;

(4)盖戳注销(mark (a postage stamp，check or ticket)to indicate that it may not be used again)[T+n]：～a stamp给邮票盖戳;

cancel out (v adv)抵销(vt & vi)：The ￡2 I owed him and the ￡2 he owes me～(each other) out. 我欠他两英镑，他欠我两英镑，正好抵销。Two opposing votes/The two things～each other out.双方的选票数量/两者相当。

【辨异】cancel与delete和erase都可表示“去掉”的意思。cancel是以盖戳或划线等办法注明，如：～a word/a stamp(删去一个字/给邮票盖戳);delete(删去)指在书写或印刷的文字上作记号把字删除，如：delete part of a line(勾去一行中的一部分);erase(擦去)指用橡皮等擦去，如：erase a capital letter(擦去一个大写字母)。
