(2)起因(产生)于(result from or be caused by)[I+prep(from/out of)]：The problem/trouble/situation arose from the lack of communication.这问题/纷争/局面是由于缺乏交流引起的。The problem/accident arose out of carelessness.这问题/事故是粗心大意引起的。〖同〗result;

(3)起身(get up ，as from sitting，kneeling or lying;stand up)[I](旧用法)：He arose and walked to the window.他站起身来走到窗前。I'll～and go to my father.我要起来去我父亲那里。～from one's chair 从椅子上站起身来;A～，Sir Knight! 爵士，起来!My lady sweet，～.我可爱的姑娘，起来吧。〖同〗rise，get up，stand up;〖反〗sit (down)，lie down ，kneel;

(4)升起(move upward)[I](少用)：A mist/plume of smoke arose from the volcano.薄雾/烟柱从火山口升起。〖同〗rise;〖反〗descend，fall;

【辨异】1) arise与result 都可表示“起源于”，都接介词from。但arise是指“由于……而发(产)生”;result 则强调“由于……而引起结果”。还有originate，也可表示“起源于”，也接介词from，但强调“出处”、“发源”。2)arise与 rise和 get up 都可表示“起身”之意。get up 为一般用语;rise为正式语体用语;而arise为旧说法，且多用于诗歌。
