2. struggle,endeavour斗争，努力。
△Tw.1.4.41:“Yeta barful strife!”i.e.a struggle full of difficulties,anendeavour full of impediments. 但是，好一番困难重重的斗争。(又译：好一番障碍重重的努力。)
3. discord,contest,contention,brawl不和，竞争，争论，争吵。
△1H.VI.5.5.62:“For what is wedlock forced,but a hell,/ An age of discord and continual strife?”因为，强迫婚姻是一座地狱，除了一辈子的不和、不断的争吵，还有什么？
4. brawl,uproar,disturbance争吵，喧嚣，骚动。
△Mid.5.1.230(225): “For,if I should,as lion,come instrife / Into this place，’twere pity on my life.”因为，如果我真是狮子一般，闯到这儿来咆哮，那么我就要大为倒霉。
5. contrariety,opposition,contradiction,variance 对立，反对，抵触，分歧。
