2. force,constrain,press 强迫，强逼，逼迫。
△Rom. 4.1.47: “It strains me past the compass of my wits.” i. e. Icannot think of a solution to the problem.这件事逼得我费尽心思，也想不出办法。
3. force out 勉强挤出。
△Rom.3.5.27:“It is the larkthat sings so out of tune,/Straining harsh discordsand unpleasing sharps.”云雀唱得走了调，费力挤出这样生硬的噪音和刺耳的尖声。
4. apply with desperation 拼命使用。
△Ado.4.1.254(252): “For to strange sores strangely they strain thecure.” i. e. strange diseases require strange and des-perate cures. 不寻常的病症只有痛下不寻常的药剂才能治好。5. transgress,disregard 违背，不顾。
△ Rom.2.4.55(49): “my business was great,and in such a case as mine a man may strain courtesy.”i.e.a man maytransgress good manners,or be unceremonious. 我当时有很要紧的事，在那种情形下，一个人只好失礼。
6. force the sense of,enlarge the meaning of 曲解，夸大。

7. embrace 拥抱。

2. strive 反抗。
