【用法】also不用于否定句(此时代之以either);通常置于主动词之前或be之后，如与上文联系紧密，也可置于句首;不用作连词连接两个句子或句子成分，除非在口语中(此时其前加and或but为好)。

【辨异】also与too和as well的不同在于语体色彩和在句中的位置。also用于较正式场合，紧靠动词(主动词之前，be之后);而too和as well 通常用于口语，常位于句末。至于either，与以上三个不同，用于否定句。
