1. truth,integrity,uprightness 真实，诚实，正直。
△H.VIII.1.1.39: “As I belong to worship andaffect / In honour honesty，” i. e. As I belong to thenobility and love truth in accordance with my sense ofhonour. 我有贵族的身份，荣誉感使我热爱诚实。
△H.VIII.5.3.111 (5.2.146): “whose honesty the devil / And his disciples only envy at，”他的诚实，只有魔鬼和他的门徒才会嫉恨。
2. honourableness,honourable character高尚，高尚品格。
△Lr.2.2.77 (72):“That such a slave as thisshould wear a sword,/ Who wears no honesty.” 因为这样一个奴才，毫无高贵品格，居然身上也佩着剑。
3. honour荣誉。
△Oth.5.2.243 (245):“But whyshould honour outlive honesty?”i.e.why should rep-utation outlive honour?可是荣誉既不存在，还关心名誉做什么？
