(2)说服(persuade)[C+n+to-inf](AmE)：～sb to go by train/to vote for a person说服某人乘火车/投一个人的票;～sb that he should leave说服某人走开;

→con′vinced adj坚信的，确信的;con-′vincing adj有说服力的;uncon′vincing adj 无说服力的;

【辨异】convince与persuade和induce都可表示对某人的思想和行为施加影响。convince指使人相信一真理或陈述，只有接that从句和不定式时才表示“说服”(某人做某事);persuade(说服，使确信)和induce(诱导，促使)现代主要都表示“说服”(某人做某事)，如：persuade/induce sb to do it(劝说/促使某人做这事)，但persuade 更多指“劝”;而induce仅强调结果(不管是劝说，还是诱惑)，因此，其主语可以是人，也可以是某种因素。
