(4)继续说(speak or say sth again after a break，pause or interruption)[I，T+n，T+that]：Please～;don't stop. 请继续说，不要停。He～d that the government should call an election.他继续说政府应该举行一次选举。“Well，” he～d，“she came a second time.”“噢，”他接着说：“她又来了一次。”

【辨异】1)continue与endure、persist和last²都可表示不中断地持续相当长的时间。continue表示不中断地延续或存在;endure(持续，持久)指人或事物抗拒着不利影响而持续下去，如：His fame will endure forever.(他的声誉将永存。)persist(持续)指事物存在下去，如：The weather will persist.(这天气将会持续下去。)last(持续，持久)表示始终如一地持续到所期望的结局，有时会遇到不利影响，如：This cloth will last long.(这布经用。)2)continue与resume都表示“继续”的意思，区别在于 resume是停顿后“重新开始”，如：resume a journey after a rest(休息后重又开始旅行)，而continue常无中间停顿。
