【辨异】acquaintance与associate，companion和friend 都指与之有交往的人。acquaintance是仅仅相识但关系不密切的人;associate(伙伴，同事)指由于共同的工作、事业、追求而经常相伴的人，如：a business associate(商业伙伴);companion(伙伴，伴侣)指有共同活动或命运的人，如：a travelling companion(旅伴);friend(朋友)指关系密切、感情亲近的人，如：a trusted friend(信赖的朋友)。
