(1)你(们)自己(identical person or creature that is you，used reflexively as the object of a preposition or of a verb)：Did you ask～“where”? 你问过自己“在哪儿”吗?You can dry～with this towel.你可以用这条毛巾把身子擦干。You will hurt～with this knife.你会用这把刀把自己伤着。Why are you looking at～ves in the mirror? 你们为什么照镜子?Did you walk across the wild all by～?你是自己孤身一人穿越荒野的吗?try sth out/think for～ves instead of just obeying orders 亲自尝试某事/自己思考而不要只是听从指令;You can all see for～ves that the room is empty.你们都可以亲眼看到房间是空的。

(2)你(们)本人(emphatic appositive of you)：a letter you～wrote 你本人写的一封信;You～can't do the job/told me the story.你本人做不了这工作/给我讲过这个故事。

(3)你的正常情况(your normal self)(用于be，come to 后)：You are not～today.你今天情绪不正常。You'll soon be～again.你会很快恢复健康的。 You have not been～these past few weeks.这几个星期你的精神状态不好。

(4)靠本人(without help)：The surest way is to do/carry it (all) (by)～.最稳妥的方法就是你自己去做/拿。I'll show you how to do the sum，then you must do the others(by)～ves.我来给你们示范如何做这道题，之后你们必须独立完成其他题。

【用法】类似yourself的反身代词要和需要它的动词连用，如：enjoy yourself (过得快活);在某些动词之后加上它或省掉它都不会改变原意，如：He washed (himself). (他洗澡。)这类词可用在动词与介词之后，试比较：Jennie looked at herself(=Jennie) in the mirror.(珍妮看着镜子里的自己。)试对比：Jennie looked at her(=another woman) in the mirror. (珍妮看着镜子里的她。)

【注意】 yourself不能用于“空间方位或方向”含义的介词之后，如：Shut the door behind you.(随手关门。)不能表达成：*Shut the door behind yourself.
