【辨异】belief与conviction都可表示“相信”(某事实是真的、对的，而并无了解或证据)。belief指一般的相信，如：belief in astrology (相信星相学);conviction是指坚定的、真诚的相信，即“坚(深)信”，如：a conviction that a decision is just (坚信裁决是公正的)。
