【用法】形容词sick在BrE中只有用在名词前时才作“生病的”讲：attend one's～father(照料生病的父亲);而be sick意为“呕吐”(AmE中此时用vomit)。在AmE中，be sick作“生病的”、“健康不佳的”讲(此时BrE中用be ill)，通常都指由某种疾病造成的，如：I'm going to be sick/ill.(我想我要生病了。)
