【辨异】rob与steal都表示“盗窃”。rob表示“抢劫”及“窃取”，常指以武力方式可接介词of，如：rob sb of sb's purse(偷(抢)走某人的钱包);steel表示“偷”东西，可接介词from，如：steal a bun from a shop(从一家商店里偷了一个面包);还有burgle(盗窃)指的是非法进入住宅或商店等进行偷窃，如：burgle a shop(抢劫一家商店)。
