抹mǒ

 ❶ （涂抹） smear; apply; put on: ～ 糨糊 smear paste; ～ 点雪花膏 put on a little vanishing cream; 涂脂 ～ 粉 apply facial make-up; ～ 了一鼻子灰 get an awkward rebuff; 面包上 ～ 点黄油 spread some butter on a piece of bread
❷ （擦） wipe: ～ 眼泪 wipe one's eyes; be weeping; ～ 把脸 wipe one's face; 时间把她的形象从他的记忆中 ～ 去了。 Time had wiped her image from his memory.
❸ (勾掉； 除去； 不计在内) cross out; strike out; cancel; erase: ～ 去录音 erase the recording from a tape; 把数字 ～ 掉 cancel a figure; 把最后那句 ～ 了， 换上这一句。 Cross out that last sentence and put this in instead.
