❷ （愿心） vow (made before Buddha or a god): 还 ～ redeem a vow Ⅱ ❶ （愿意） be willing; be ready: 必要时， 他们 ～ 为国捐躯。They were ready to die, if necessary, for their country. 不 ～ 工作的人是不好的。 A man who won't work is no good. 我 ～ 把毕生献给教育事业。 I will devote all my life to the cause of education.
❷ （希望） hope; wish: 但 ～ 如此。 I wish it were true!; Let's hope so. Ⅲ [书] （老实谨慎） honest and cautious
