(7)应，依照(in response to sth)：do sth～one's invitation/one's command/one's suggestion 应邀请/遵照命令/根据建议做某事;I have called to see you～the request of a friend.我是应一朋友的要求给你打电话要求见你的。

(8)因为(used with words，actions，or ideas that are the cause of feeling or behaviour)：be surprised/shocked/amused/pleased/delighted/puzzled/angry/impatient～sth 因……感到惊讶/震惊/好笑/高兴/快乐/迷惑/生气/不耐烦;anger～being insulted 因受辱而生气;laugh/faint～the sight of sth 因看见……而大笑/昏过去;

(10)(与最高级连用)(used with his，its，etc and a superlative adjective)：～one's best/one's worst 在某人最佳/最差状态下;～best/worst 充其量/在最糟的情况下;～(the (very)) most/least 最多/至少;～the latest/earliest 最迟/早;The garden is～its most beautiful in June.这花园6月里最美丽。

(11)一……就(denoting manner)：reduce prices～a stroke 一下子就削了价;jump over a fence～a single leap 一跃就跳过篱笆;empty the glass ～a gulp 一口气喝完一杯;three～a time 一次三个;A～the mention of money，he became attentive.一提到钱他就注意听了。～a word from sb 只要某人一句话(就)……;

【辨异】 1) at与in都可表示地点。通常小的地方用at，大的地方用in，但大小是相对而言的。如：Our plane stopped at London on its way to New York.(我们的飞机在飞往纽约的途中在伦敦作短暂停留。) 2)at与on和in都可表示时间意义。on用于表示日子的名词，如：on Sunday/Sunday morning;at多用于一天中的某一时间，如：at noon;in用于表示年、月、季节等以及一天中的一段时间的名词，如：in the morning，in winter等。3) at与for都可表示价格。at表示“以……的价格”，如：I bought it at ￡5.(我以五英镑的价格买了它。)for则表示“花……(钱)”，如：I bought it for ￡5.(我花了五英镑买了它。)
