(3)确保，保证(make (a future event) certain;ensure)[T+n]：～sb's future/sb's happiness/sb's position/sb's election 确保某人的未来/幸福/职位/选举获胜;One more try/touchdown will～victory.再努力一下/得一次底线分胜利就在握了。The only way to～success is to work hard.确保成功的唯一办法是努力工作。The contract/agreement～s the company's profit.这合同/协议确保公司的利润。〖同〗ensure，guarantee;

(4)保险(insure sth，esp against sb's health)[T+n]：～ a house for its full value 按房子的全部价值投保;This insurance policy～s you against accident.这保险政策可使你不受事故损失。What is the sum～d?投保金额是多少? 〖同〗insure;

【说明】一般来说，保人寿险等(必定发生的事情)用assure，保火灾、盗窃险等(不一定发生的事情)用insure，与保险公司打交道时，用词要准确。但日常生活中，可无需考虑。

【辨异】assure与ensure和insure都可当“确保”讲，但assure不如ensure常用;insure仅在AmE中才用于此义，此时比ensure稍常用一点，如：insure/ensure/assure success(确保成功)。insure和assure都可当“保险”讲(ensure则不可)，如：insure/assure sb against accident(给某人保意外事故险)。
