【辨异】 assemble与gather和collect都可表示“使聚集”的意思。gather(收集，采集)表示一般意义上的“收集”，不含整理的意思，如：gather sea shells(收集海贝壳);assemble既可指收集物品，也可指事实等，含有要整理的意思;collect(收集，聚集)指有目的地集聚以汇成有序的整体，如：collect stamps(集邮);还有muster(汇集)与marshal (集聚，整理)，原来都是军事术语，muster指全面细致地收集，如：muster all one's resources(把自己所有的资源汇集在一起);marshal指有目的地严格整理，如：marshal one's thoughts(整理思绪)。
