❍ 趁今日清净，大家商议两件兴利剔弊的事情，也不枉太太委托一场。(《红楼梦》711) Now that we’re free,let’s work out a couple of ways to make a profit and get rid of past abuses,so as to prove ourselves worthy of the mistress’s trust.
❍ 将以为万民兴利除害。富贵贫寡。安危治乱也。故古者圣王之为若此。(《墨子·尚同》) It was really to procure benefits and eliminate adversities for the people,and to enrich the poor and increase the few,and to bring safety where there is danger and to restore order where there is confusion-it was for this that the political leaders were appointed.
