it，etc won't/wouldn't hurt (sb/sth)(to do sth)不会造成伤害(引起不便)，没有妨碍：It won't/wouldn't～(you) to postpone the meeting for a few days/work late just once. 会议推迟几天/就加一次班没有关系。A bit of weeding wouldn't～(this garden). 除掉一点草不会(对花园)有什么损害。

n (1)(精神，感情上的)创伤，痛苦(harm，damage，esp to feelings;mental pain)[U，a～][N(to)]：It does him no～to talk the matter over/get the house painted. 谈一谈这件事/把这所房子油漆一遍对他没坏处。intend no～to sb's feelings/pride没打算伤害某人的感情/自尊心，leave sb with a feeling of deep～给某人留下深深的精神创伤;get over one's～at being rejected摆脱因被拒绝而产生的苦恼;

(2)肉体上的伤害(injury to the body)[C]：suffer some/a little～in the accident在事故中受了些/一点伤;(lotion/salve)make the～go away(洗液/止痛药)使疼痛消失;

【用法】hurt可指身体上的伤害，伤害的程度可能是slightly(轻微)，badly(颇重)或seriously(十分严重);如果是由于别人的行为造成心理上不快乐的，不可用上述几个词来形容。试比较：She was badly/slightly hurt when she fell off the ladder.(她从梯子上摔下来伤得很重/受了轻伤。) She was very/rather/deeply hurt by his unkind words. (他的刻薄话很是/非常/深深地刺伤了她的心。)

【辨异】1)hurt与injure和wound均可用来指对身体进行伤害，如：You can be wounded. (你受了伤)，或由于枪，或像剑和刀子这样的锐器的袭击而受伤。可以说：You can be injured (receive) an injury. (你受了伤)。a)当使用其他武器，如很粗的棍子或炸弹; b)在事故中，如：He was seriously injured in a car crash.(在一次撞车事故中，他受了重伤。) wound和injure表示的程度都比hurt要重，如：She slipped and hurt her knee.(她滑倒了，伤了膝盖。) 2)hurt与injury和wound均可指身体上的或道德方面的损害或侵害。injury最初指所作的侵害或所遭受的侵害，现在用来指任何引起的或蒙受的邪恶、伤害或损失，如：physical injury(身体伤害);injury to one's reputation(名誉上的损害);hurt表示身体上的伤害，常指伴有疼痛的身体损伤，如：a bad hurt from a fall(摔倒了，伤得很重);wound通常指因砍、枪击等引起的肉体伤害，如：a serious wound in the shoulder(肩膀受了重伤);也可指精神上的伤害，如：to inflict a wound by betraying someone's trust(辜负某人的信任引起对某人的伤害)。
