【辨异】gaze 与look和stare的区别：gaze作“凝视”解，表示由于好奇、羡慕、着迷等而长时间地、目不转睛地看，例如：gaze into the distance(向远方凝视);gaze out of the window(向窗外凝视)：look作“看、望、瞧”解，如：look in the cupboard(向衣橱里瞧);stare 表示因惊奇、惧怕、憎恶、吃惊等而长时间有意地盯着看，目光比gaze更专一，通常眼睛睁大。stare at sb(眼睛盯着某人)可能是不礼貌的，如：Children should be taught not to stare at handicapped people. 教育孩子们不要盯着残疾人。
