且qiě

Ⅰ  ❶ (暂且； 姑且) just; for the time being: 别着急， ～ 听我说完。 Don't worry. Just hear me out. 这事 ～ 放一下。 Let the matter rest for the time being.
❷ [方] （经久） for a long time: 他 ～ 来不了呢。 He's a long time coming. 这菜 ～ 煮呢。 This dish takes a long time to cook. 这种钢笔 ～ 使呢。 These fountain pens last a long time. Ⅱ  [书] ❶ （尚且） even: 死 ～ 不惧， 况困难乎！ Even death holds no fears for us, to say nothing of difficulties.
❷ (并且； 而且) both ... and ...: 这种马既高 ～ 大。 This breed of horses is both tall and heavily grown. Ⅲ （姓氏） a surname: ～ 晖 Qie Hui
