不耻下问bù chǐ xià wèn

be modest enough to consult one’s inferiors; deign to ask sb below oneself;not be ashamed to ask of one’s inferior; not be above asking questions; not be (/feel) ashamed to ask and learn from common people (/people below/one’s subordinates); not mind seeking advice from the rank and file; not think it beneath oneself to get the opinions of one’s subordinates; stoop to ask advice from the common run of people
