【辨异】 follow与result和succeed都表示自然的结果，在其他事后发生。follow 是常用词，如：A detailed account follows. (随后是详细的账目。) result (结果)强调的是原因和结果的联系，如：The driver's carelessness results in the car accident. (那名司机的粗心大意导致车祸。) succeed (继……之后)指的是跟随、继承，尤其指的是头衔、官职等，如：Formerly the oldest son succeeded to his father's title. (以前都是长子继承其父亲的头衔。)
